According to a report by Iran's Mehr News Agency on May 30, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces stated that Iran has implemented comprehensive management over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. All commercial vessels, oil tankers, and other civilian ships are required to follow designated routes and obtain prior permission from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy. The headquarters emphasized that due to the unified nature of the Strait of Hormuz's waterway management, all vessels must comply with the passage regulations set by Iran. Any violation of these regulations could significantly impact navigation safety. The headquarters also warned that if any foreign warships attempt to interfere with the management affairs of the Strait of Hormuz or disrupt maritime traffic order, the Iranian armed forces will take appropriate action. Earlier the same day, according to a report by the Iranian Students' News Agency, Salimi, a member of the presidium of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, indicated that the parliament's proposal to "exercise sovereign jurisdiction" over the Strait of Hormuz is about to be passed and is expected to become a long-term law.
