According to reports, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is in discussions to raise $100 billion to establish a fund aimed at acquiring manufacturing companies and integrating artificial intelligence technology.
The report, citing informed sources and investor documents, states that Bezos has met with several major asset management firms in recent months to secure funding for the project. These efforts included trips to the Middle East and Singapore. A spokesperson for Bezis did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon.com in 2021 but continues to serve as Chairman. He previously co-founded and partially funded Project Prometheus, a company focused on real-world applications of artificial intelligence.
