On December 18, as the Hainan Free Trade Port officially launched its island-wide customs closure, Siemens Energy held a groundbreaking ceremony for its gas turbine assembly base and service center in Danzhou, Hainan Province, while simultaneously establishing Siemens Energy (Hainan) Co., Ltd.
This facility marks Siemens Energy's first gas turbine assembly and service center in China, integrating operations such as assembly, local application validation, spare parts supply, and maintenance services. The base will enhance Siemens Energy's global gas turbine assembly and service network, addressing the growing demand for gas power generation equipment in both domestic and international markets. The project is scheduled for completion and operation by 2027.
Joern Schmuecker, Global Senior Vice President of Siemens Energy's Gas Power Generation Group, stated that the establishment of the base aligns closely with Hainan Free Trade Port's goal of becoming a high-level open economy hub.
Currently, Hainan is advancing its clean energy island initiative. Gas power generation, as a key flexible power source, plays a vital role in supporting high-penetration renewable energy integration and ensuring grid stability. Leveraging its robust local supply chain and advanced manufacturing capabilities, Siemens Energy's Hainan base will shorten equipment delivery cycles and improve project execution efficiency and service responsiveness.
