Dynasty Fine Wines Group Limited (Dynasty Wines) reported a sharp earnings contraction for the six months ended 30 June 2026. Revenue fell 32.31% year-on-year to HK$83.05 million, driven by weaker mainland China demand—particularly for mid- to high-end red wines—and softer average selling prices.
Profit attributable to shareholders slumped 93.93% to HK$0.50 million. Basic earnings per share dropped to HK0.04 cents from HK0.58 cents a year earlier.
Key operating metrics • Gross profit declined 34.96% to HK$30.76 million; gross margin slipped to 37% from 39% as product mix shifted toward lower-priced items. • Distribution costs were flat in absolute terms (HK$27.47 million), lifting the cost-to-sales ratio to 33% (H1 2025: 23%) amid higher marketing spend and reduced revenue. • Administrative expenses fell 19.0% to HK$14.55 million. • Other income rose to HK$11.62 million (H1 2025: HK$6.50 million), mainly on the write-off of long-aged payables. • Finance swung from net income of HK$0.27 million to a net cost of HK$0.06 million following new RMB-denominated bank borrowings.
Balance sheet and cash flow • Cash and bank balances stood at HK$47.63 million (31 Dec 2025: HK$94.86 million). • Short-term bank borrowings totalled HK$22.91 million; the group moved from net cash of HK$94.44 million at FY-end to HK$24.72 million. • Gearing (total liabilities/total assets) improved to 32.54% (31 Dec 2025: 37.08%) as liabilities fell to HK$181.68 million. • Capital commitments reached HK$46.80 million, mainly for the new yellow-wine and Chenpi-wine plant in Jiangsu, which is 90% complete and slated for trial production by Q3 2026.
Operational highlights • Total sales volume dropped to about 3.7 million bottles (H1 2025: 4.8 million). • White wines contributed 63% of revenue; red wines 28%; other products—including sparkling wines, brandy, craft beer and baijiu—made up the balance. • New product launches included low-alcohol “Tipsy” series and tea-flavoured sparkling wines aimed at younger consumers and instant-retail channels. • E-commerce revenue grew, supported by live-streaming and collaborations with major platforms, partially offsetting weakness in traditional distribution. • The Ningxia Tianxia Winery (Phase I) began operations; new Marselan and Syrah red wines are scheduled for release in H2 2026. • Joint-venture Dynasty Jiangsu’s 3,000-tonne yellow-wine facility is nearing completion; Dynasty Renhuai continues to develop its sauce-flavour baijiu distribution business.
Dividend No interim dividend was declared. The company paid a final dividend of HK0.35 cents per share for FY 2025.
Outlook Management expects China’s wine market to remain challenging in H2 2026. Focus areas include expanding low- and non-alcohol portfolios, deepening e-commerce and instant-retail penetration, and completing the Jiangsu plant to diversify revenue streams.
