At the Beijing Auto Show opening on April 24, He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPeng Group, delivered a speech at the company's press conference. He stated that since its official rollout in March, the second-generation VLA has garnered widespread attention. The current user discussion has shifted from "whether to use intelligent driving" to "which intelligent driving system is better," indicating that intelligent driving has evolved from a novel feature into a factor influencing consumer purchasing decisions.
During the event, XPeng Group released its first performance report on the second-generation VLA. The report indicates that the system has turned intelligent driving from a "nice-to-have" into a "must-have." In March, orders for XPeng's Ultra model series increased by 118% month-over-month. Among all Ultra series users, 98.52% activated the intelligent driving function daily during the first week of ownership. The number of 100% NGP-driven trips for the entire Ultra series grew by 115.9% compared to the previous month, while the number of manual interventions per 100 kilometers decreased by 25.9%. Interventions in complex narrow-road scenarios saw a reduction of 36.28%.
Furthermore, the report showed that 95.3% of female Ultra model owners aged 50 and above have experienced the second-generation VLA. The user base for the second-generation VLA continues to expand, moving from "early adopters" to "mainstream users."
He Xiaopeng emphasized that following the launch of the second-generation VLA, XPeng's sales have increased against market trends, with monthly sales rising 74.4% month-over-month and 56.8% year-over-year. The second-generation VLA has become a crucial engine for sales growth. Since the system became available for test drives, it has received a 98% positive rating, and the average decision-making time from test drive to purchase has shortened by 44.7%.
