Bank Of Nanjing Projects Net Interest Margin Improvement Aligned With Market Trends

During its 2026 interim results conference held on August 20, Bank Of Nanjing Co., Ltd. addressed investor queries regarding interest margin performance. The business department head noted that amid the current environment of low interest rates and compressed margins, the bank has pursued a dual-pronged strategy across assets and liabilities, optimizing asset allocation, refining the liability structure, and strengthening pricing management. These coordinated measures have stabilized the net interest margin overall, with net interest spread edging up 0.02 percentage points from the end of the prior year.

Looking ahead to the second half of the year, the bank plans to capitalize on the repricing opportunities of maturing high-cost deposits to further adjust its deposit structure. Concurrently, through initiatives such as the "three-year cost reduction campaign," customer base expansion, payroll services, and scenario-based finance projects, it aims to broaden low-cost deposit channels. The bank expects the improvement in deposit cost rates for the full year to surpass the levels achieved in 2025.

On the lending side, although asset pricing continues to face downward market pressure, the bank is accelerating its transition toward customer-centric operations focused on enhancing comprehensive returns. By reinforcing client negotiation and differentiated pricing strategies, it seeks to mitigate the decline in asset yields. Additionally, debt-class assets are being allocated more swiftly, with adjustments made to the three-tier classification structure. Taking all factors into account, the bank anticipates that its full-year net interest margin will exhibit marginal improvement in tandem with market conditions, maintaining overall stability and sustaining a competitive position among listed banks.
