Deep News10-20

The 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Summit is being held from October 20 to 22 at the Shanghai Huangpu Expo Park.

Industrial Bank Vice President Hao Chao attended the event and delivered a speech.

Hao Chao stated that standing at the new starting point of the 15th Five-Year Plan, China has established a binding target of reducing carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by 17% by 2030 compared to 2025, making the importance and urgency of energy conservation and carbon reduction increasingly prominent.

From an industrial development perspective, the in-depth implementation of energy conservation and carbon reduction policies is reshaping the industrial landscape, not only accelerating the low-carbon transition of traditional industries but also driving the leapfrog development of new energy systems, promoting the comprehensive conversion of industrial momentum toward green productivity.

In Hao Chao's view, the financial industry shoulders an important mission in guiding resource allocation and promoting green low-carbon transition, and should align closely with the green low-carbon transition policy requirements of the 15th Five-Year Plan to firmly seize industrial development opportunities.

He proposed deeply practicing the concept of green plus industry, demonstrating financial responsibility in serving the real economy.

He emphasized adhering to an industry-centric approach, promoting the extension of green financial services to both upstream and downstream of industrial chains, enriching the supply of financial products, and enhancing service precision; focusing on key areas of carbon reduction by increasing resource investment, accelerating the implementation of transition finance, assisting the low-carbon upgrade of traditional industries, and making good use of carbon reduction support tools to lower corporate financing costs.

Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd. (601166) promotes the deep integration of green finance and industrial finance, driving upstream and downstream through core customers in industrial chains, pioneering the carbon finance plus green supply chain model, broadening corporate green financing channels, and helping cross-border enterprises respond to overseas carbon tariffs.

He stated the need to expand the carbon financial product system and activate the value of carbon assets.

Around the expansion of the national carbon market and the construction of the voluntary emission reduction market, supporting services such as transaction settlement, investment and financing, and consulting should be provided, and under compliance premises, exploring derivative instruments such as carbon futures to enhance carbon market liquidity and pricing efficiency; continuously consolidating digital carbon accounting capabilities, relying on the self-developed dual carbon management platform to help enterprises revitalize carbon assets, manage carbon risks, and empower carbon market construction.

Hao Chao also stated the need to strengthen professional capability building and provide comprehensive services of financing plus intelligence.

Financial institutions should promote the shift of services from single fund supply to comprehensive value creation, embedding transition planning and carbon management consulting into the entire business process; linking multiple parties such as research institutes, industrial entities, and exchanges to build a green finance ecosystem.

Industrial Bank Co.,Ltd. (601166) will rely on the Industrial Bank Carbon Finance Research Institute to deepen the integration of industry and research, and deliver professional services around transition finance and ESG fields.
