According to individuals with knowledge of the matter, Runze Zhicuan Technology Group Co., Ltd. is seeking a loan of approximately HK$20 billion (US$2.6 billion) to fund the construction of what is poised to be the largest computing facility in Hong Kong, China.

The sources indicated that Runze Technology is in preliminary discussions with several banks regarding a one-year loan. The financing could potentially be structured as a syndicated loan or through multiple bilateral facilities to support the development of its data center project located in the northern New Territories of Hong Kong. They added that talks with potential lenders are still in the early stages and are subject to change.

A subsidiary of this Shenzhen-listed company secured a contract in mid-March this year to develop a 110,000-square-meter plot in northern Hong Kong into a data park for data centers and related industries. Construction on the project is currently underway, with a total estimated investment of HK$23.8 billion over the next three years.

Runze Technology did not respond to requests for comment.
