During a media dialogue following the YU7 GT Xiaomi Human-Vehicle-Home Full Ecosystem New Product Launch Event, Xiaomi Group Chairman and CEO Lei Jun, Xiaomi Group Vice President and Automotive CTO Hu Zhengnan, Xiaomi Auto Vice President Song Gang, and Xiaomi Auto Chief Test Driver Ren Zhoucan engaged with the press.
Song Gang, who previously served as the factory manager of Tesla's Shanghai plant and assumed the role of Xiaomi Auto Vice President and Chief of Staff in April this year, made his first public appearance since joining Xiaomi.
He stated that Xiaomi Auto has garnered industry attention since its inception. Through subsequent communications with Mr. Lei and the Xiaomi team, he deeply felt the team's passion and dedication to the automotive industry, which solidified his determination to join Xiaomi.
He believes that Xiaomi and Tesla are remarkably similar, both culturally and in their pursuit of excellence and technological advancement. Xiaomi's strength lies in its open culture, where the entire team focuses on doing the right things, striving for perfection, aiming to be the best in the industry, and enabling everyone to perform at 120% of their capacity. This is what attracted him and forms the foundation for Xiaomi's potential to achieve remarkable success in the automotive field.
Regarding his responsibilities in the smart manufacturing sector, he expressed great satisfaction in observing significant improvements in the entire production and delivery system over the past year since joining Xiaomi Auto. Moving forward, he hopes to further enhance production efficiency and introduce advanced manufacturing philosophies, systems, and technologies to Xiaomi and its supply chain.
