At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), a dialogue session featuring prominent actor and Vice Chairman of the China Film Association Huang Xiaoming, alongside Kunlun Tech's Chairman and CEO Fang Han, explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping video, gaming, music, and the global entertainment industry.

During the discussion, when addressing his personal stance on AI-created content, Huang Xiaoming stated frankly that he has not personally produced an AI film. He explained that he prefers to dedicate his energy to live-action creation rather than delving deeply into AI tools himself. However, he maintains an open mindset towards the AI industry sector and expressed a strong desire to increase investment in AI technology and AI-related film and television projects, expressing optimism about the long-term development potential of artificial intelligence in the content industry.

Huang Xiaoming recounted a recent experience where he made a special trip to a film studio to view an AI-generated feature film created by a friend. The vast technological disparity he observed between two viewings just three months apart left him profoundly astonished. When he first watched the film three months ago, the visuals and character performances still bore clear traces of AI synthesis. However, upon viewing it again three months later, the AI-generated character imagery had reached a level of realism that was indistinguishable from reality. The depiction of facial blemishes, pore details, and the rich layers of micro-expressions were so refined that the characters seemed to possess the vitality of real performance in their skin texture and demeanor, with no discernible signs of AI production.

This direct experience made Huang Xiaoming acutely aware that the iteration speed of AI film and television technology far exceeds industry expectations. Technological transformation has become an irreversible trend, and professionals in the film and television industry cannot avoid the changes AI brings. In response, he explicitly stated that every member of his team must proactively learn and implement AI technology. He warned that clinging to outdated methods and refusing to engage with new technology would easily lead to being left behind by the industry's development.

In his view, there is no point in rejecting or resisting AI. The optimal choice for the industry now is to actively learn, fully embrace, and rationally utilize AI tools. By leveraging new technology, the boundaries of film and television creation can be expanded, and AI empowerment can be harnessed to produce more high-quality original content.
