Former Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda stated in an interview published on Saturday that the central bank has achieved its 2% inflation target, and Japan does not require fiscal expansion or monetary easing policies.
Kuroda mentioned that, given the coexistence of inflation risks and economic slowdown, the Bank of Japan's decision to hold off on raising interest rates on April 28 was the correct move.
