The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has issued a notice outlining a target of 125,000 new students for technical colleges in 2026.
These institutions will focus their training programs on key groups, including rural migrant workers seeking employment and skills training, recent graduates who have not yet found jobs, registered unemployed individuals, and those facing employment difficulties.
The training will center on market demand and vocational skill requirements in critical fields such as 人工智能, advanced manufacturing, the low-altitude economy, new energy vehicles, and healthcare services.
Technical colleges will deepen integration between industry and education and enhance school-enterprise cooperation.
They will optimize and establish new majors to align with emerging and future industries.
Simultaneously, they will collaborate with leading enterprises in their regions to jointly build industrial colleges and practical training bases, and to co-establish targeted training classes or enterprise-sponsored programs.
Furthermore, tailored skill-upgrading courses will be offered through different formats, including full-time programs, part-time programs, and vocational skills training, to meet the diverse needs of various groups.
