China's economic performance for the first half of the year is impressive, with several core indicators showing steady improvement.
Goods trade imports and exports increased by 16.9% year-on-year. Within this total, exports reached 14.73 trillion yuan, growing by 13.4%, while imports totaled 10.74 trillion yuan, up 22.1%.
The preliminary calculation for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first half reached 69.5704 trillion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.7% at constant prices.
The value added of industrial enterprises above a designated size grew by 5.4% year-on-year. By sector, mining increased by 3.6%, manufacturing rose by 5.6%, and the production and supply of electricity, thermal power, gas, and water saw a 5.5% increase.
The total volume of postal and courier services reached 108.89 billion pieces, a year-on-year growth of 4.2%. Of this, courier service volume exceeded 100 billion pieces, with a cumulative total of 100.38 billion pieces, marking a 5.0% increase.
Preliminary statistics show that the outstanding aggregate financing to the real economy stood at 462.06 trillion yuan at the end of June, a 7.4% rise from the previous year. Support for the real economy remained solid, with financing conditions in a relatively accommodative state.
The consumer market continued to expand, with service retail sales growing at a faster pace. Specifically, service retail sales increased by 5.3%, while retail sales of goods rose by 1.1%.
In the first six months of the year, China's railways transported a cumulative total of 2.348 billion passenger trips, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%, setting a new record high for the same period.
