On March 31, BYD Company Limited officially launched its 5,000th quick charging station at the Qinglan Expressway's Jiejiazui Service Area in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. This marks a significant milestone in the company's "Quick Charging China" strategy and demonstrates steady progress in expanding public charging infrastructure.

Located at the junction of the Qinglan Expressway and the Lianhuo Expressway in Gansu, the Jiejiazui Service Area serves as a critical transportation link between central and western China. The activation of this station will enhance the expressway charging network in these regions, offering convenient support for cross-regional travelers. In addition, quick charging stations in expressway service areas across multiple provinces and cities—including Nanjing in Jiangsu, Tangshan in Hebei, and Haikou in Hainan—have also commenced operations as part of the first batch of such facilities, contributing to a denser national charging network.

Since the "Quick Charging China" strategy was announced on March 5, BYD has rapidly advanced the construction of charging stations, achieving broad coverage from core urban centers to major transportation corridors. To date, BYD's quick charging stations are now available in 297 cities nationwide, effectively addressing common concerns among new energy vehicle owners during peak travel periods—such as difficulty finding available chargers, long queues, and slow charging speeds—thereby improving the convenience and comfort of long-distance travel.

Previously, BYD announced plans to build 20,000 quick charging stations across China by the end of 2026, aiming to provide users with greater charging freedom and ease. Notably, owners of all BYD vehicles equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery will enjoy one year of complimentary quick charging at all national quick charging stations. Combined with BYD's groundbreaking charging technology—which enables a full charge in just 9 minutes, with 5 minutes for a significant boost, and only 3 minutes extra even at temperatures as low as -30°C—the company aims to eliminate charging anxieties for drivers.

The launch of the 5,000th quick charging station and the first batch of expressway charging hubs underscores BYD's commitment to its "Quick Charging China" strategy. It also reflects the company's dedication to advancing new energy mobility services and fulfilling its social responsibilities. Looking ahead, as the charging network continues to expand, BYD will further lower the barriers to new energy vehicle adoption, support the widespread use of electric vehicles, and contribute significantly to China's energy transition and the development of green transportation.
