Hong Kong-listed NU ENVIRO (New Universe Environmental Group Limited) has provided an update on ongoing litigation involving its indirect non-wholly owned subsidiary, New Universe Environmental Technologies (Jiang Su) Limited (“NUET (Jiang Su)”), and its wholly owned onshore unit, Zhenjiang New Universe Solid Waste Disposal Co., Ltd. (“Zhenjiang New Universe”).
Action A – Enforcement notice against NUET (Jiang Su) • The Intermediate People’s Court of Zhenjiang City issued an enforcement notice dated 28 May 2026 directing NUET (Jiang Su) to pay Plaintiff A HK$25.02 million, plus an asset-preservation fee of RMB5,000, a second-instance legal investigation fee of RMB0.09 million, enforcement application costs of RMB0.09 million and accrued interest. • A separate asset-reporting order requires NUET (Jiang Su) to disclose current assets and those held within the previous year to the Court within ten days of receipt.
Action B – Preservation of dividends and repayment directive • On 27 May 2026 the Court issued an enforcement judgment at Plaintiff B’s request, ordering that: – NUET (Jiang Su)’s entitlement to dividends from Zhenjiang New Universe is preserved up to HK$25.02 million (approximately RMB22.00 million). – Zhenjiang New Universe must withhold payments to NUET (Jiang Su) up to the preserved amount during the preservation period. • A notice to repay debt instructs Zhenjiang New Universe to settle RMB19.00 million—owed to NUET (Jiang Su)—directly with Plaintiff B or the Court within 15 days of receipt. • The Court has also requested Zhenjiang New Universe’s books and financial statements for audit purposes.
Company position NU ENVIRO states it is obtaining legal advice on the appropriate response to the enforcement measures. Management emphasises that the notices have not disrupted, and are not expected to disrupt, the Group’s normal operations. Further announcements will be made upon any material developments.
