WH GROUP Shares Surge Nearly 5% Post-Earnings as Pork Business Drives Profit Growth

WH GROUP (00288) opened nearly 5% higher following the release of its annual results. At the time of writing, the stock was up 4.99% to HK$9.88, with a turnover of HK$52.6995 million. On March 24, WH GROUP announced its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025 (adjusted for biological fair value). The group reported total revenue of $28.026 billion, an increase of 8.04% year-on-year. Profit attributable to shareholders was $1.567 billion, a decrease of 2.79% compared to the previous year. Basic earnings per share stood at 12.21 US cents. The company proposed a final dividend of HK$0.41 per share. According to the announcement, the group's revenue rose by 8.0% to $28.026 billion in 2025, driven by higher pork sales volume and increased average selling prices for meat products. Operating profit also grew by 8.7% to $2.612 billion, primarily due to a significant improvement in profit margins within the pork business segment. On the same day, WH GROUP also disclosed the annual results of its subsidiary, Smithfield, for the year ended December 28, 2025. Smithfield reported sales revenue of $15.531 billion and net income attributable to Smithfield of $987 million.
