Deep News07-05 20:41

Guangzhou's Nansha District is advancing its strategy to develop the artificial intelligence industry. On July 4, the Nansha Development District Investment Promotion Bureau and Baixin Information Technology Co., Ltd. (Baixin) signed a cooperation agreement in the district.

The total investment for the project is expected to exceed 4 billion yuan, with an estimated annual output value surpassing 10 billion yuan. The collaboration will focus on high-performance servers, the research, development, and manufacturing of domestically produced servers, as well as innovation in AI hardware and vertical models. The goal is to establish a hub for the information technology application innovation industry based in Nansha, serving the Greater Bay Area and the nation.

Strategic Development Context

Currently, Guangzhou Nansha is promoting a development strategy centered on the coordinated advancement of its seaport, airport, digital port, financial port, and talent port. It is actively integrating into Guangzhou's "12218" modern industrial system framework to accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces.

Integration into Local Industry Chains

According to the Nansha District government, following its establishment in Nansha, Baixin will deeply integrate into the industrial chain systems of Guangzhou and Nansha. Upstream, it will collaborate with local chip and software enterprises to build a supporting supply chain for information technology application innovation complete machines. Downstream, it will provide domestically produced servers, information technology application innovation cloud solutions, and data security plans for sectors such as automotive, biopharmaceuticals, and government services.

Building Computing Power and Digital Services

Furthermore, leveraging the resources of the Guangzhou Nansha Intelligent Computing Center, Baixin will co-build an industry-specific computing power platform. The company will also offer industrial digital transformation services to manufacturing enterprises in Nansha, empowering companies in industrial parks to undergo intelligent upgrades. By addressing the digital replacement needs of Guangzhou's government and enterprises, Baixin will establish a local operation and maintenance service center, providing domestically developed underlying infrastructure to support the digital and intelligent foundational upgrade of regional industries.

Academic Collaboration and Broader Impact

On the same day as the signing event, Baixin also inked a significant cooperation agreement with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou). Both parties will concentrate their efforts on technological breakthroughs in the field of 人工智能 (artificial intelligence), establishing a joint laboratory and a platform for talent cultivation and achievement transformation to bridge the gap from fundamental research to industrial application.

Through the collaboration between government, industry, and academia, the Baixin project will further leverage its proximity to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) for research and development cooperation. Combined with Nansha's policies on venue support, R&D, and talent subsidies, this initiative aims to reduce operational costs. It is expected to generate comprehensive benefits across multiple dimensions including industrial agglomeration, technological innovation, and regional empowerment, facilitating the deep integration of the digital economy and manufacturing in Guangzhou Nansha.
