On August 24, at the 2025 "Data Elements ×" Competition Shanghai Regional Event, Shanghai Baosight Software Co.,Ltd., in partnership with Copas, won the first prize in the industrial manufacturing track for their project "Building Multi-source Heterogeneous High-Quality Datasets for Steel Enterprises to Help AI Redefine Steel Industry."
The "Data Elements ×" Competition serves as an important national-level platform promoting market-oriented allocation reform of data elements. It focuses on selecting data development and utilization projects with innovative value and practical application potential, facilitating deep integration between data elements and the real economy.
The Shanghai regional competition was led by the Shanghai Municipal Data Bureau in collaboration with 16 related organizations, receiving over 600 participating projects from various enterprises, institutions, universities, and research institutes. Winning projects from the regional competition will receive recommendation qualifications for the national finals and enjoy multiple supporting incentive measures including policy support, publicity and promotion, and industry-finance matchmaking.
Shanghai Baosight Software Co.,Ltd.'s project stood out among competitors, demonstrating innovative strength in the data elements field of the steel industry. The project addresses pain points in data governance and AI datasets within the steel sector, focusing on building intelligent solutions for multi-source, multi-modal data, with particular emphasis on three key areas:
First, establishing standards for multi-source heterogeneous data in the steel industry, unifying data standards and definitions to resolve the industry challenge of "disorganized data."
Second, developing data management platforms adapted to industrial scenarios, achieving standardized full-process management of data collection, cleaning, storage, and annotation.
Third, providing support services for AI application implementation, deeply integrating high-quality datasets with steel production, manufacturing, and business management scenarios.
The project has been implemented across multiple units including Baowu Shared Services, Baosteel Co., and Baowu Raw Materials. These organizations provided crucial production scenario validation environments and technical resource support for the project. Through cross-departmental collaboration, they ensured tight integration between data technology and industrial scenarios, driving the transformation of "AI + Steel" from a technical concept to actual production efficiency, supporting cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and decision optimization.
This award recognition not only acknowledges the project's technological innovation and industry practicality but also demonstrates Shanghai Baosight Software Co.,Ltd.'s leading capabilities in data element development and industry digitalization solution construction.
Moving forward, the joint team of Shanghai Baosight Software Co.,Ltd. and Copas will carry the responsibility of the Shanghai regional competition and advance to the national finals, striving for higher competition honors while further promoting high-quality dataset construction in the steel industry and deep integration applications with AI technology.
