CHINA HONGGUANG (ASX: 08646) has announced a strategic initiative to comprehensively expand its technical cooperation in the fields of automotive photovoltaic glass, conductive glass, and photovoltaic glass for space applications.
This collaboration is built upon the group's existing production capabilities in coated conductive glass, ultra-thin specialty glass deep-processing products, and flame-retardant composite panels, which provide an upstream raw material advantage and establish a foundation for vertically integrated research and production.
The product scope will cover the third-generation photovoltaic technology industrial chain. The group will partner with the top-tier, fully printable mesoscopic perovskite photovoltaic technology team from Wuhan Wandu Optoelectronics Research Institute and collaborate with the research team led by Professor Han Hongwei at the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Together, they will engage in technical research and development cooperation focused on automotive photovoltaic glass, conductive glass, and space-grade photovoltaic glass, aiming to solidify the technological moat for the group and its subsidiaries.
Following the establishment of a pilot production line, capacity expansion will be implemented in phases according to market demand.
Initial funding for the technical cooperation will be provided internally by the group. Subsequently, depending on actual circumstances, the possibility of arranging appropriate financing is not ruled out.
The board of directors believes that this technical collaboration will enhance the group's advanced new materials industrial chain and concurrently improve its profitability.
