CF PharmTech completes first healthy volunteer dosing in Phase I trial of inhaled ILD therapy ICF004

Bulletin Express09-21

CF PharmTech announced the successful enrolment and dosing of the first healthy subject in its Phase I clinical trial evaluating ICF004, an inhalation powder developed for interstitial lung disease (ILD), including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other progressive fibrotic phenotypes.

The study seeks to characterise the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic profile of single and multiple administrations of ICF004 in healthy volunteers in China. According to pre-clinical data and two completed investigator-initiated trials, the formulation demonstrated anti-fibrotic activity, increased local pulmonary exposure and reduced systemic exposure, with no serious adverse events reported within the tested dose ranges.

Completion of the first dosing marks a key milestone in CF PharmTech’s pipeline of complex inhalation formulations. The company is preparing protocols for subsequent efficacy and long-term safety studies that will further assess the anti-fibrotic potential of ICF004.

Management reiterates that pharmaceutical R&D carries substantial uncertainty; marketing approval and commercialisation remain contingent on favourable clinical outcomes.

CF PharmTech positions itself as a global innovator in inhalation drug delivery, leveraging integrated capabilities spanning device engineering, precision drug delivery, regulatory filing and commercialisation to advance therapies for respiratory, nasal and pulmonary disorders.
