A shipment ceremony was recently held by the Jiangsu Aid-Yili·Yangzhou Working Group to facilitate the transportation of over 650 tons of specialty agricultural products from Xinyuan County, Xinjiang, to Yangzhou. The initiative aims to help local products expand their market reach beyond Xinjiang, boosting rural revitalization and increasing farmers' incomes.
The shipment includes a variety of products such as Sanhua geese, honey-crisp apples, beef, lamb, dried fruits, and honey. The first batch, loaded onto six trucks, will embark on a long journey to Yangzhou.
Tang Chaowen, Deputy Party Secretary of Xinyuan County and head of the Jiangsu Aid-Yili·Yangzhou Working Group, stated that in recent years, the working group has prioritized consumption-based assistance as a key part of its support efforts. By strengthening ties between Yangzhou and Xinyuan, the initiative promotes rural development and enhances sales of local agricultural products.
Since the beginning of this year, the working group has organized three such campaigns to transport Xinyuan’s specialty products to Yangzhou. According to incomplete statistics, annual consumption-based assistance from Yangzhou to Xinyuan amounts to approximately 30 million yuan, effectively addressing sales challenges and increasing farmers' incomes.
Fan Zhengpeng, a farmer from Xinyuan’s Kalabulak Town, shared his excitement: "This year, I received 200 free goslings from the Xinyuan-Yangzhou Goose Demonstration Base and raised them in my orchard, earning an extra 50,000 to 60,000 yuan for my family. We’re all very happy and hope to receive even more goslings next year."
Moving forward, the Jiangsu Aid-Yili·Yangzhou Working Group and Xinyuan County authorities will continue leveraging local resources to develop specialty agriculture, improve product quality, and expand sales channels, ensuring sustained progress in consumption-based assistance.
