[Click to register] (Source: Shangguan News) The "Shanghai Action Plan for Accelerating the Development of Next-Generation Smart Manufacturing" was officially launched on October 12. Shanghai will promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and manufacturing, and accelerate the construction of a next-generation smart manufacturing system. As an important bellwether for the industrial sector, at the 26th China International Industry Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "CIIF") held from October 12 to October 16, a group of Pudong enterprises collectively demonstrated the hardcore strength of "enhanced brain" empowering "smart manufacturing," with large models precisely "commanding" robots, so that even the smallest creative idea can be manufactured.
"Enhanced Brain" Empowerment: New Technologies Accelerate into Production Lines, Scenarios, and Capacity Expansion
"Four major zones, one station, one scenario" made a concentrated appearance. At this CIIF, the booth of Pudong embodied intelligence enterprise Elite Robots put up the display slogan "Real Production Lines Enter the Site." On site, many professional manufacturers from around the world flocked to the various booths, asking staff in detail about the latest technology roadmaps. 2026 is regarded by the industry as the first year of delivery for the embodied intelligence industry, and the first year of mass production for robots. At this CIIF, output, delivery, scenarios, and applications are replacing pure technology demonstrations to become the new focus of the embodied intelligence industry.
"For example, our 'intelligent teaching-free welding robot' is based on 3D vision plus AI, with one-click welding and no programming required. The rail-mounted welding robot can be magnetically attached and can directly face the welding of large structural components," the on-site person in charge of the Elite Robots booth told reporters. At this CIIF exhibition area, they replaced conceptual demonstrations with real production line scenarios and set up four major zones: the smart manufacturing core zone, the smart welding zone, the smart living zone, and the scenario-based display zone, centrally presenting a variety of solutions. It is no longer surprising that robots can work, but Elite Robots' "core technology" is very attractive: the systematic capability of "one brain, multiple forms," that is, using a unified intelligent foundation (the "brain") to promote the large-scale implementation of embodied intelligence, so that robots no longer fight alone but collectively "go on duty."
"The dividing line in industry competition is no longer the complexity of movement stunts or the limits of single-machine parameters, but whether stable, replicable, and scalable productivity output can be formed in real production lines," said the relevant person in charge of Elite Robots. The company uses its self-developed "Yuanqi Primo" industrial-grade embodied large model as a unified intelligent foundation, driving the coordinated evolution of three major product matrices: composite, wheeled humanoid, and collaborative robots, and completing large-scale deployment in high-value scenarios such as precision manufacturing for optical infrastructure, flexible assembly of intelligent terminals, and biopharmaceutical laboratory automation. Based on the unified intelligent foundation, Elite Robots has built a full product matrix covering composite robots, wheeled humanoid robots, and collaborative robots, and achieved full-chain technological integration from core components and complete machines to software platforms. As the technology "breaks out of the circle," Elite Robots' overseas orders have increased year by year. From sub-millimeter precision insertion and extraction to heavy-load handling with a peak of 50 kilograms... the AgiBot Genie G2 robot also "went on duty" at the CIIF site. At this CIIF, AgiBot also for the first time showcased the implementation results of embodied intelligence in the high-end manufacturing field of optical modules. Traditional manual efficiency is unstable, while rigid automation is difficult to balance flexibility and safety. The AgiBot Genie G2, with its high-precision force-controlled arm and joint torque sensors, as well as its self-developed real-machine reinforcement learning framework, enables rapid implementation of solutions and millimeter-level operation in place—smoothly completing insertion and extraction while ensuring the optical module is in place and effectively protecting the "golden fingers."
In Hall 7.2, Pudong enterprises brought more practical and cutting-edge scenarios in the field of "smart manufacturing." One of the leading enterprises in China's low-altitude economy track, Vertaxi, whose R&D headquarters is located in Pudong, appeared with its self-developed 2-ton-class manned eVTOL M1 real aircraft. This is also the first time in the history of the CIIF that a 2-ton-class eVTOL real aircraft has been exhibited. On-site staff introduced that this M1 model, called an "air taxi," has achieved 100% localization in three key links: the power system, the core flight control system, and the fuselage composite materials. It is worth mentioning that the "intelligent brain" flight control and other core systems of the Vertaxi M1 model were independently developed by the company; the aircraft's "heart" power system uses China's new energy vehicle industry chain technology to establish a cost advantage; at the same time, material innovation and process innovation were carried out on the aircraft's "skeleton" fuselage composite materials, making the eVTOL lighter, stronger, and lower in manufacturing cost. At the new materials industry exhibition area of this CIIF, Shanghai Superconductor brought second-generation high-temperature superconducting tape. With the continuous development of related technologies, the large-scale preparation of high-performance superconducting materials has also become a key link in the industrialization process. At present, the Shanghai Superconductor tape and headquarters base located in Zhangjiang Science City is under accelerated construction. After completion, it will further expand Shanghai Superconductor's production capacity and provide material support for the development of related frontier industries.
Pudong Zhangjiang Innovation Technologies Are Accelerating Toward the Industrial Frontline
At this grand industrial technology event, Zhangjiang's scientific and technological innovation forces continued to make a wonderful appearance as a "group." The Zhangjiang Science City joint exhibition area, organized under the leadership of the Zhangjiang Science City Construction Management Office, gathered a number of hard-tech enterprises to collectively display innovation achievements. The products brought by enterprises in the joint exhibition area cover multiple links including chips, computing power, software, and industry applications, with both cutting-edge technological breakthroughs and solutions close to industrial needs. For example, Muhuan Xingxuan brought the "Huan'an" intelligent computing payload, making its national debut. It can directly complete tasks such as remote sensing data processing, target recognition, and tracking on satellites, reducing dependence on ground computing; Yikeli focuses on new energy vehicle manufacturing and showcases smart manufacturing solutions integrating digital factories, industrial intelligent agents, and embodied robots... Reporters found that at this CIIF, many Zhangjiang enterprises achieved "multi-booth linkage" through hardcore technology. For example, Zhangjiang Artificial Intelligence Innovation Town enterprise Yuben Intelligence, in addition to the Zhangjiang Science City joint exhibition area, also displayed industrial safety and intelligent detection achievements in the robot hall and the Science and Technology Commission exhibition area. Among them, the on-site deployed tablet defect detection device can complete image acquisition, AI defect judgment, and control signal output within 20 milliseconds. "In the detection of one million tablets, this system missed fewer than 2 tablets and had fewer than 10 false detections," introduced on-site staff. What seems like a small "skill improvement" is essentially a "microcosm" of innovation in the next generation of "smart manufacturing." Pudong Zhangjiang enterprises are optimizing various "small details" in industrial links. For example, products brought by Qingyi Industrial Software can apply AI to CNC programming, process design, and R&D management; the latest GPU power supply solution brought by Jingfeng Mingyuan provides more flexible power management support for high-performance computing equipment.
Hardcore Scientific Innovation Is No Longer Limited to Papers and Prototypes
In the highly popular core exhibition area of this CIIF—the Innovation Science and Technology Hall, themed "Scientific and Technological Innovation, Leading Future Industries"—more than a hundred of Shanghai's frontier scientific and technological achievements made a concentrated appearance. Reporters walked into the exhibition area and found that many enterprises from Pudong brought a batch of breakthrough key core technologies, so that hardcore scientific innovation is no longer limited to papers and prototypes, but deeply penetrates key fields such as smart manufacturing, life and health, green and low-carbon, and aerospace and marine industries. "If a humanoid robot uses our self-developed PEEK material throughout its body, the total weight is expected to be reduced by 50% compared with traditional materials, which also means the robot's standby time can be extended," introduced Jiang Chengxuan, marketing manager of Huaxiang Qiyuan. At the Huaxiang Qiyuan booth, the company's in-depth layout in the field of lightweight robot materials was displayed in a concentrated manner. PEEK new material has excellent characteristics such as high heat resistance, high strength, corrosion resistance, and self-lubrication. Previously, it was mainly used in aerospace and high-end medical fields. At present, Huaxiang Qiyuan has taken the lead in achieving large-scale application of PEEK material on full-size humanoid robots, solving the industry problems of lightweight design, high endurance, and high-strength durability from the material source. A command was given on the screen: "Help me put the red part on the assembly table." Two dual-arm robots, without any preset program, "thought" for a moment and then accurately found the red part, picked it up, and steadily placed it in the specified position. This was not a pre-programmed demonstration; it truly could "understand human speech." Jushi Intelligence, which has settled in Pudong Zhangjiang, is a "repeat visitor" to the CIIF. "The insightOS Semantic intelligent agent system we brought is essentially installing a 'brain that can understand human language' on a robot," introduced the relevant person in charge of the Shanghai Jushi Intelligence booth. "With previous robots, you had to write every step of the program for them. Now it's different. You only need to say one sentence in natural language, and it can decompose it into actions, recognize the environment, and complete the task by itself." It is reported that at present, this domestically developed operating system has been applied to scenarios such as smart manufacturing production line deployment, vocational education training, smart agriculture operations, and intelligent service robots, helping robots move from demonstration to industry. At this CIIF site, intelligent solutions to efficiency problems can be seen everywhere. A group of science and technology innovation enterprises rooted in Pudong for R&D have turned laboratory technologies into implementable and promotable smart manufacturing solutions and innovative products, jointly promoting the extension of artificial intelligence, new materials, and new equipment from single-point applications to the entire manufacturing process, and promoting the coordinated upgrading of technology, equipment, and services.
