SMIC Issues Reminder on Electronic Distribution of Corporate Communications

Bulletin Express04-08 17:22

Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) reiterated that all future corporate communications—including annual reports, interim reports, meeting notices, listing documents, circulars and proxy forms—will be distributed electronically via the company website (www.smics.com) and Hong Kong Stock Exchange website (www.hkexnews.hk). Printed copies will no longer be dispatched unless specifically requested.

Under Hong Kong Listing Rule 2.07A, shareholders must provide a functional email address to receive any actionable corporate communications that require voting or election instructions. SMIC urges registered shareholders who have not yet submitted an email address to do so by scanning the personalised QR code on the reply form or returning the form to Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services Limited, 17M Floor, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai.

If a valid email address is not supplied, SMIC will continue to send actionable materials in hard copy. Shareholders preferring printed versions of general corporate communications can opt in by completing the reply form or emailing smic.ecom@computershare.com.hk; such requests remain effective for one year unless revoked earlier.

The company stresses the importance of accurate contact details to ensure timely delivery of information. Enquiries should be directed to the Hong Kong share registrar at smic.ecom@computershare.com.hk.
