Data released by the petroleum price system on December 23 showed that the average price change rate for the crude oil basket stood at 2.04% on December 22.
Under China's refined oil pricing mechanism, domestic gasoline and diesel prices are adjusted every 10 working days based on international crude oil price fluctuations, with adjustments taking effect at 24:00 on the announcement day. If the price adjustment is less than 50 yuan per ton, no change will be made, and the difference will be carried over to the next adjustment cycle. In special circumstances, price adjustments may be suspended, delayed, or reduced in scope.
The National Development and Reform Commission announced on December 22 that, in accordance with the current pricing mechanism, domestic gasoline and diesel prices would be lowered by 170 yuan and 165 yuan per ton, respectively, effective from 24:00 on December 22.
December 23 marks the first working day of the new pricing cycle, with the next adjustment window set to open at 24:00 on January 6, 2026.
