Apple has announced that Jennifer Newstead will assume the role of General Counsel effective March 1, 2026, succeeding Kate Adams, who has held the position since 2017.

Newstead will join Apple in January as Senior Vice President, reporting directly to CEO Tim Cook and joining Apple's executive leadership team. Until Adams' retirement (expected by late 2026), she will oversee the Government Affairs team, which will subsequently merge into the General Counsel's office under Newstead's leadership.

Additionally, Lisa Jackson, Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, will retire by the end of January 2026. The environmental and social initiatives teams will then report to Apple's Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan.
