Li Auto Executive Outlines Vision for the Next Decade: A Shift from Features to Life

Deep News18:41

At the 2026 China Automotive Chongqing Forum held from June 12th to 13th, Liu Liguo, Senior Vice President of Vehicle Electrification at Li Auto (LI), delivered a speech outlining the company's strategic vision.

Liu Liguo expressed the company's belief that the next decade in the automotive industry will not be defined by a competition over features and configurations, but rather by a competition over life and vitality.

He stated that from its very first day, Li Auto was not defined merely as a means of short-distance travel from point A to point B. The next decade will see it evolve into a third space imbued with life. This space will be capable of perception, active thinking, and continuous evolution. It will know you, understand you, and proactively respond to your needs. The day you take delivery of the vehicle marks the starting point of its capability evolution. This, Liu Liguo emphasized, is Li Auto's brand mission: to endow the car and the home with life.

Reflecting on the company's journey, Liu Liguo noted that Li Auto pioneered the extended-range electric vehicle segment. It drove industry development with its spacious designs and the popular "refrigerator, TV, and sofa" concept, and has now ushered in the era of pure electric vehicles.

Regarding the demands for Li Auto's next generation of vehicles, he pointed out that the approach is to start from the user and arrive through technology. Whether it concerns electric power, intelligence, or organizational structure, the starting point for every choice is the same question: What more can we do? How can we make users' lives better?

He stressed that this endeavor cannot be accomplished by a single company alone. The industrial ecosystem for embodied intelligence, AI standards, and China's next decade require collective definition by industry peers. The first half of China's automotive era defined a new market; the second half will endow this industry and its vehicles with human-like life.
