Shantou Bay Rural Commercial Bank Fined 1.28 Million Yuan for Regulatory Breaches

Shantou Bay Rural Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. has been penalized with a total fine of 1.2791 million yuan for violations across multiple regulatory areas including financial statistics, payment settlements, financial technology, credit information management, and anti-money laundering controls. The People's Bank of China Shantou Branch issued a warning and confiscated illegal gains amounting to 892 yuan.

Lin Mouhui, an individual associated with Shantou Bay Rural Commercial Bank Co., Ltd., was held accountable for the bank's violations of payment settlement regulations. He received a warning and was fined 51,600 yuan.

The penalties were formally announced on April 7, 2026, through the administrative punishment disclosure of the People's Bank of China Shantou Branch. Both penalties will remain publicly disclosed for a period of five years.
