Japanese and South Korean Stock Markets Open Lower, Nikkei Index Falls 0.6%

Major stock indices in Japan and South Korea opened in negative territory on Wednesday. The Nikkei 225 index began the trading session down 0.6% at 69,005.88 points, weighed down by declines in the electronics and metals sectors.

Meanwhile, South Korea's KOSPI index also opened lower, falling 1.2% to start the day at 8,622.13 points.
