Shares related to robotics concepts mostly rose during the trading session. At the time of writing, Johnson Elec H (00179) climbed 6.08% to HK$24.76, while Dobot (02432) increased by 5.26% to HK$32. Sanhua (02050) advanced 4.9% to HK$35.1, and Geekplus-W (02590) rose 4.31% to HK$17.89. The positive movement follows recent developments from Tesla. During the Q1 2026 earnings call, CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the Optimus robot is scheduled to begin production in late July or August at the Fremont facility. Additionally, Tesla has officially produced the final Model X and will dismantle the Model X/S production lines to fully convert them for exclusive Optimus manufacturing. Huaxin Securities noted that the robotics sector is currently at a relatively low overall level, with catalysts along the Tesla supply chain gradually materializing. The Optimus v3 is expected to be released mid-year, supporting a sustained upward trend for the sector. The firm recommends prioritizing investments in Tesla supply chain players with high certainty before the V3 launch, while also paying attention to robot manufacturers that have already deployed pilot projects in industrial settings and possess first-mover advantages. Guojin Securities pointed out that although Q1 saw increased volatility in capital markets, the fundamental progress in the industry remains largely in line with expectations. The brokerage maintains its annual strategy view for 2026, stating that this year marks the phase of commercialization from zero to one for humanoid robots, with leading companies expected to see consolidation in both supply chains and technology.
