Siemens Mobility Partners with PCI Technology and GIG to Establish Signaling System Joint Venture

Deep News11-22

On November 14, Siemens Mobility Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (Siemens Mobility), PCI Technology Group Co.,Ltd.'s (600728) wholly-owned subsidiary Guangzhou Pci Zhitong Technology Co., Ltd. (PCI Technology), and Guangzhou Industry Control International Holdings Co., Ltd. (GIG) officially signed a cooperation agreement in Guangzhou to jointly establish a rail transit signaling system joint venture. This marks a new phase in their strategic collaboration, aiming to position Guangzhou as a global hub for rail transit technological innovation.

The signing ceremony, held at the Huangpu District People's Government in Guangzhou, was attended by key executives including Siemens Mobility Greater China CEO Juergen Model, GIG Chairman Liu Yin, and PCI Technology Senior Vice President Feng Bo. High-ranking officials from Guangzhou's municipal government and industry leaders witnessed the event.

Model emphasized Siemens Mobility's leadership in digital R&D and application for rail transit. The joint venture will leverage Siemens' digital expertise to advance signaling technology while fostering local talent and ecosystem development in Guangzhou, with projects serving as benchmarks for the Greater Bay Area and beyond.

Liu Wei, founder and CEO of PCI Technology, highlighted the company's strengths in smart rail transit engineering and system integration. The joint venture will accelerate digital and intelligent solutions for next-gen signaling systems, enhance localization capabilities, and align domestic R&D with international standards to build a competitive market ecosystem.

Jing Guangjun, Chairman of GIG, stressed open cooperation with global leaders to build an advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The "state-owned + private + multinational" collaboration model will drive core technology breakthroughs and industrial chain development in rail transit signaling systems.

As a global leader in rail signaling, Siemens Mobility has deployed its advanced systems across six major Guangzhou metro lines. The company has existing partnerships with PCI Technology since 2024 and renewed collaboration with GIG in July this year, focusing on autonomous operations and digital maintenance.

The new joint venture, based in Huangpu, will accelerate localization of Siemens' signaling technology through new line construction and existing line upgrades. It aims to meet domestic autonomy requirements while supporting Guangzhou's ambition to become a global rail tech innovation center.

Key focus areas include: 1) Developing China-adapted digital signaling applications using Siemens' global technology; 2) Expanding Guangzhou's rail transit industry toward trillion-level cluster status; and 3) Leveraging Siemens' 190-country network to promote "Guangzhou Rail" standards internationally.

As the core engine of the Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou's "industry-first" strategy provides fertile ground for this strategic partnership. With strong government support, the collaboration between Siemens Mobility, PCI Technology and GIG will drive Guangzhou's rail transit industry toward higher-end, intelligent development.
