From July 3rd to 4th, the 2026 Yabuli Forum Innovation Annual Conference took place in Shanghai. The theme of this year's innovation conference was "Innovation-Driven, Intelligence Enabling the Future – The 15th Five-Year Plan Blueprint and Corporate Opportunities."

At the Greater Health Forum, Li Zhongqi, Deputy General Manager of Suzhou Tianling Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Pieces Co., Ltd., stated that technology and artificial intelligence are bringing a qualitative transformation to the TCM decoction pieces industry. This shift not only improves the quality of medicinal materials but also completes a profound change from traditional experiential models to data-driven intelligent manufacturing.

He explained that intelligent equipment has significantly upgraded the processing techniques. Traditional TCM processing relied entirely on the experience of seasoned practitioners, lacking unified standards. In contrast, intelligent production lines can precisely control all process parameters, such as temperature and humidity, during the processing of TCM materials. Improper control of these processing techniques can directly affect clinical efficacy, as proper processing enhances medicinal effects, alters properties, and reduces toxicity. Therefore, intelligent production offers substantial benefits.

He further discussed that traditional decoction methods often use clay pots or pressure cookers. His company is currently developing an intelligent, unattended decoction service center. In this system, the dispensing and formulation of medicinal materials are handled by intelligent robots equipped with AI image recognition for sorting. The robots then automatically transport the materials to decoction stations, completing the preparation of a dose of medicinal soup in just thirty minutes. "By integrating AI intelligent technology, we have launched supporting services, promising medical institutions that a dose of medicinal soup will be delivered within twenty-four hours," he said.
