Caocao Inc has officially opened its Robotaxi testing with no safety driver in the front seat.
This testing is being conducted on real urban roads in the Binjiang District of Hangzhou. It uses a dispatch mechanism triggered at specific stations, designed to verify the stability and service reliability of driverless operations on a small, controlled scale while ensuring safety.
The test vehicles are fully integrated into the Caocao Zhixing RAS Remote Safety Service Platform. This platform serves as the central cloud-based safety and operations hub for the Robotaxi business, taking on critical responsibilities such as full-trip safety monitoring, emergency call response, real-time remote assistance, and handling abnormal situations, providing solid support for driverless operations.
In April of this year, Caocao Inc received approval to become the first company in Hangzhou to conduct road tests for intelligent connected vehicles without a safety driver. Currently, the company has deployed a fleet of over 100 Robotaxis in Hangzhou, and the world's first "Green Intelligent Mobility Island" has been put into operation there, integrating functions like automatic battery swapping, automatic cleaning, and vehicle preparation.
As the most important commercial vehicle for the Geely Holding Group's RoboX strategy, Caocao Inc is steadily advancing its autonomous driving service deployment through a three-in-one development model combining "intelligent custom vehicles, intelligent driving technology, and intelligent operations." At this stage, the company is progressing as planned with the transition from having a safety driver in the front seat to fully driverless operations. Caocao Inc has deeply participated in the product definition and development of China's first natively developed Robotaxi, the "Eva Cab," which has been officially unveiled and is scheduled for mass production in 2027. At that time, it will use natively customized vehicles to drive large-scale commercial operations globally.
Looking ahead, Caocao Inc will continue to advance Robotaxi testing and validation in more cities and complex scenarios, constantly refining its autonomous driving technology, safety assurance systems, and intelligent operational capabilities.
