At Tianjin Port's Euroasia International Container Terminal, the vessel "Chang Sheng" recently completed loading operations and departed for Surabaya and Jakarta in Indonesia, carrying fresh pears, dairy products, and engineering machinery. This marks the official launch of a new Southeast Asia route jointly operated by Evergreen Marine, Yang Ming Marine Transport, and Wan Hai Lines at Tianjin Port.
On the same day, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company's newly introduced Southeast Asia Sambar route also saw its vessel "Diego" set sail from Tianjin Port. With these additions, Tianjin Port has now expanded its network with two new Southeast Asia routes.
Jiao Deshuai, Assistant Manager of the Shipping Department at Sinotrans Huabei Container Branch, explained, "The new Southeast Asia routes provide direct shipping services from Northern China to multiple Southeast Asian countries. With stable schedules and ample capacity, they meet clients' supply chain and logistics needs, including production cycles and delivery timelines. Additionally, the port's high operational efficiency significantly reduces overall logistics and trade costs."
MSC's Sambar route primarily connects Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, offering shippers more convenient direct access and effectively shortening shipping times. "The Sambar route operates weekly with six 4,200-TEU container vessels, ensuring regularity and reliability in cargo transportation. The route emphasizes 'direct shipping + broad coverage,' enriching direct channels from China to Vietnam and Thailand while cutting maritime transit time by over one-third," said Gu Zhenyu, Sales Manager at MSC Tianjin Branch.
The two new Southeast Asia routes complement existing shipping resources, providing Northern China's import-export businesses with direct maritime options to Southeast Asia. This not only reduces transportation time and logistics costs but also strengthens trade connectivity between Tianjin Port and Southeast Asia as a key hub.
