On August 30, the UK Maritime Trade Operations office released a warning stating that a tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, approximately 12 nautical miles (around 22 kilometers) north of Khor Fakkan in the Gulf of Oman.
According to the notice, there are currently no reports of casualties or environmental damage resulting from the incident.
The advisory recommended that vessels in the area exercise heightened caution when navigating the waters.
