On November 2, a financial frontline report stated that Minsheng Bank held its 2026 third-quarter earnings briefing today.
Regarding the real estate business, Shi Lei, General Manager of the Credit Management Department at Minsheng Bank, stated that in recent years the bank has placed great emphasis on preventing and resolving real estate risks, earnestly implemented relevant national policies and regulatory requirements, and continuously strengthened risk management in real estate business in accordance with the overall principles of total volume control, revitalizing existing assets, and optimizing new increments.
For existing high-risk projects, the bank has accelerated real estate risk resolution from both ends鈥攐perational revitalization and disposal reduction鈥攂y formulating resolution plans on a household-by-household and project-by-project basis, comprehensively employing market-oriented and law-based measures such as collateral disposal, litigation collection, creditor's rights transfers, and debt restructuring, thereby accelerating disposal progress.
In recent years, the bank has achieved an orderly reduction in corporate real estate credit exposure, continuously optimized its asset structure, and maintained overall stability in asset quality.
He pointed out that from the perspective of real estate industry development, with the implementation of the 828 New Policy this year, the fundamental systems of real estate have undergone systematic reconstruction. Real estate enterprises will completely shift from pursuing scale expansion to focusing on product services and quality, which is conducive to advancing high-quality industry development in greater depth. However, in the short term, the market will face certain cash flow pressures, destocking pressure in third- and fourth-tier cities remains significant, and combined with factors such as fluctuations in collateral valuations, the real estate industry is expected to remain in a risk clearing phase for some time, with asset quality still facing interim pressure.
"Next, our bank will continue to strengthen tracking and monitoring of the implementation of the 828 New Policy across various regions, timely adjust risk resolution strategies for key projects in response to policy and market changes, and while serving the stable and healthy development of the real estate market, maintain our own prudent and sustainable operations," Shi Lei concluded.
