On October 20, Zhu Lei, the marketing director of Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai, made two posts on Weibo addressing ongoing online controversies. He directly pointed out that the "outsiders" may be those involved in defaming Gree and emphasized that righteousness will prevail over evil.
Zhu Lei stated that he is unsure who the "outsiders" are, but stressed that those continuously smearing Gree online are certainly the "outsiders." He revealed that he possesses ample relevant materials that he intends to share gradually, expressing his unwavering belief that righteousness will triumph over malice. In addition, he indicated that the so-called "dirty PR" tactics are not as sophisticated as some may think, asserting that while they may evade the law, they cannot escape the truth.
Previously, Zhu Lei mentioned that a group of individuals recently inundated his Weibo, Douyin, and livestream with offensive language, even referring to him with phrases like "pigs aren't together" and "tired not together," which he found amusing. He questioned the "outsiders," asking if they were completely oblivious to their own actions.
He expressed confusion over what the "outsiders" are afraid of. Zhu Lei noted that content discussing "outsiders" on video platforms has been entirely suppressed, while the smear campaigns against Gree and himself have sparked a small wave of interest.
Zhu Lei perceived "dirty PR" as a "mathematical problem," primarily not aiming for a legitimate turnaround but rather to "pollute as many as they can." He cited Confucius's saying about being fierce outwardly but cowardly inwardly, emphasizing that one must be honest and upright to successfully produce quality products. He concluded with reflections on ancient wisdom, asking the "outsiders" if they understood the lessons from ancestors regarding wrongdoing, which inevitably leads to self-destruction.
