XIMEI RESOURCES (09936) shares jumped nearly 8% in the afternoon session, trading at HK$14.80 as of press time, marking a 7.87% increase with a turnover of HK$17.57 million.
The rally comes after the company issued a profit alert, forecasting net profit for the six months ending June 30 to range between 164 million and 200 million yuan, compared to 91.8 million yuan in the same period last year. The growth is attributed to heightened demand for metal products, which boosted production and sales volumes, alongside improved gross profit margins.
Public data shows that XIMEI RESOURCES is one of the few domestic firms capable of processing tantalum and niobium resources, with core products including tantalum oxide, niobium oxide, and potassium fluotantalate. According to reports, metals closely linked to AI computing power, referred to as "computing power metals," have seen significant price surges driven by AI demand. Within six months, tin prices have risen by approximately 40%, indium prices have increased by 60%, and tantalum prices have soared by 158%.
