Beijing Daxing Airport Surpasses One Million International Travelers in 2026, Six Days Earlier Than 2025

Deep News03-07

As of March 3, 2026, the number of inbound and outbound passengers passing through Beijing Daxing International Airport has exceeded one million, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 7%. This milestone was reached six days earlier than in 2025. Since the beginning of the year, the number of foreign nationals entering and exiting through the airport has reached 261,000, a significant increase of about 38.2% compared to the same period last year.

Recently, the Airports Council International (ACI) announced the results of its 2025 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey. Daxing Airport ranked first in the Asia-Pacific region. It achieved perfect scores in two key indicators: "waiting time at border/passport control" and "courtesy and helpfulness of border/passport control staff." The border inspection station at Daxing Airport has now received top marks for five consecutive years, demonstrating the international standard of China's immigration management services.

To ensure smooth operations as the norm, the Daxing Airport border inspection station has implemented a "tidal" police resource allocation strategy. This approach uses a flight flow prediction system to monitor passenger traffic in real-time. It incorporates small-unit police support and cross-unit reinforcements, establishing a channel mechanism that operates at "full capacity during peak hours and appropriate levels during off-peak hours." This ensures that Chinese citizens clear immigration within 30 minutes, while also improving efficiency for foreign travelers.

To optimize the transfer experience, the airport has innovatively launched a fully independent border inspection sub-venue for transit passengers. This supports over 40 international through-flight routes operated by multiple airlines, significantly reducing transfer times and distances. Furthermore, a 24-hour direct transit policy allows eligible passengers to bypass border inspection procedures, enhancing convenience.

In terms of policy implementation, the station has precisely aligned with unilateral visa-free policies and the 144-hour transit visa-free policy. It has integrated the temporary entry permit issuance process, enabling application, issuance, and entry formalities to be completed in a single step, eliminating the need for passengers to queue twice.

The border inspection station is vigorously advancing the development of a smart port. Last year, it added support for electronic boarding passes with four more airlines. A total of 46 fast-track channels are now available at the immigration, emigration, and transit areas, allowing the vast majority of passengers to enjoy a "seconds-level clearance" experience.
