According to Woofun AI, during the final five trading days of October (the 26th to the 30th), BTC spot ETFs and ETH spot ETFs experienced over $635 million (approximately 854 billion Korean won) in net capital outflows, as risk-averse sentiment erupted across the market at month-end.
This data marks a reversal of the previously sustained inflow trend, dealing a significant blow to investors' short-term confidence in the digital asset market.
Looking at specific products, ETH spot ETFs performed particularly poorly, recording net outflows for five consecutive weeks, with October becoming their worst month since listing. Last week, ETH ETF net outflows reached as high as $432 million (approximately 580.8 billion Korean won), with $155.85 million (approximately 209.5 billion Korean won) withdrawn on the 30th alone, setting the largest single-day outflow record since October 7.
At the product level, BlackRock Inc (BLK.US)'s ETHA saw the largest outflow at $76.64 million (approximately 103 billion Korean won), while Grayscale Investments's ETH and ETHE recorded outflows of $34.14 million (approximately 45.9 billion Korean won) and $21.51 million (approximately 28.9 billion Korean won) respectively.
Throughout the entire month of October, ETH ETFs accumulated net outflows of $1.61 billion (approximately 2.1645 trillion Korean won), completely ending the prior three-month streak of net inflows, while ETH prices fell 16.1% month-over-month.
Despite the dismal monthly performance, since listing, ETH ETFs have still accumulated net inflows of $13.2 billion (approximately 17.7461 trillion Korean won).
According to data compiled by Woofun AI, BTC spot ETFs were equally affected, with net outflows exceeding $200 million last week.
Notably, single-day outflows on the 30th surged to $643.2 million (approximately 865 billion Korean won), breaking the highest single-day outflow record since June.
Previously, from the 26th to the 29th, BTC ETFs had recorded net inflows of $440.8 million (approximately 592.8 billion Korean won), but these were completely offset by the massive sell-off on the 30th.
BlackRock Inc's IBIT saw outflows of $233.7 million (approximately 314.3 billion Korean won), and Fidelity Investments's FBTC saw outflows of $201 million (approximately 270.3 billion Korean won); the capital withdrawal from these two giants dominated the market downturn.
For the full month of October, BTC ETFs accumulated net losses of approximately $515 million (approximately 692.6 billion Korean won), enough to wipe out all previous net inflow gains.

The underlying reason lies in the entire digital asset market falling into weakness after Binance announced it had suffered a $6.3 billion security breach.
TipRanks analysts pointed out that this is also a strategic move by investors to lock in profits and adjust portfolios after a strong rally.
Additionally, higher inflation data and changing expectations for interest rate increases further prompted institutional investors to reassess their holdings' risk exposure.
This represents yet another large-scale capital rebalancing triggered by a combination of macroeconomic factors and security incidents, following regulatory uncertainty.
