Aershan "200 Yuan per Night Grand Hotel" Actually 100 Yuan per Person, Investigation Finds No Price Fraud

Deep News10-05

A video of a tourist staying at a "grand hotel" in the Aershan scenic area has drawn public attention.

The video showed a room that looked like a worn-out farmhouse despite being advertised at 200 yuan per night.

On the evening of October 4, the Aershan Market Supervision Administration issued an investigation notice.

According to the investigation, the location in the video was the private residence of a local resident surnamed Bao, who operated without a business license, constituting unlicensed operation.

The term "grand hotel" was a playful remark by netizens, and the operator never promoted it as such.

The guests were a tour group driver, and because nearby hotels and guesthouses were fully booked, the operator recommended his own home and informed the driver in advance that the conditions were basic.

The two parties negotiated a price of 100 yuan per person per night, including free meals.

The property had no online booking channels, and no price fraud or false advertising was found.

For the illegal act of operating accommodation without a license, the Aershan Market Supervision Administration has ordered the operator to immediately stop receiving guests.

Officials reminded that accommodation businesses must obtain licenses in accordance with the law, clearly mark prices, and advertise truthfully; tourists should stay through proper channels and call 12315 if their rights are infringed.

Aershan is known for its volcanic landforms, virgin forests, lakes and hot springs, and is a summer resort and nature adventure destination in Hinggan League, Inner Mongolia.
