Dalian Mobile Partners with ZTE to Ensure Communications for 2026 Summer Davos Forum

Deep News06-26 22:23

The 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, was successfully held in Dalian from June 23rd to 25th.

As a key platform for global political and business leaders, this year's forum gathered a multitude of international corporate executives, global industry pioneers, and representatives from international organizations and governments.

The high-density concurrent access of a massive number of smart terminals and the complexity of service types at the high-level meeting venue posed severe challenges to the network's stability, capacity, and intelligence.

To ensure efficient and smooth communication for all needs during the event, under the guidance of Liaoning Mobile, Dalian Mobile partnered with ZTE Corporation to conduct pre-deployment and meticulous planning.

Building upon the existing network, they carried out systematic optimization and technological innovation focusing on key areas such as network capacity enhancement, uplink capability strengthening, low-altitude security assurance, and intelligent scheduling upgrades.

This effort established a highly reliable and high-performance communication support system, successfully completing the communication support mission for this Davos Forum.

Multi-Technology Collaboration for a Premium Network in High-Density Scenarios

To address the characteristics of highly concentrated users, concurrent multi-terminal access, and diverse service types within the venue, the project team innovatively adopted a comprehensive "multi-technology integration + intelligent scheduling" solution, achieving an overall leap in network capability.

In terms of downlink capacity, the team fully activated the 5G-A (5G-Advanced) key technology of carrier aggregation in the forum's exhibition area, achieving a 320M bandwidth network configuration with cell downlink capacity exceeding 5Gbps, effectively supporting high-frequency applications like HD video streaming, remote connections, and real-time image/text transmission.

For uplink capability, the 4.9GHz frequency band deployed inside the venue utilized a 6D4U frame structure networking solution.

Compared to traditional frame structures, this solution significantly increased the proportion of uplink time slots, with actual tests showing uplink speeds exceeding 520Mbps, an improvement of approximately 30% over conventional configurations.

This setup is well-suited for high-bandwidth uplink services such as media live streaming, international video calls, and rapid large file uploads, providing every attendee with a high-quality, high-speed uplink experience.

Integrated Sensing and Communication Technology Fortifies Low-Altitude Security

To address potential low-altitude security risks during large-scale events, the project team deployed 5G-A base stations with integrated sensing and communication capabilities around the venue perimeter.

Serving as an effective supplement to the existing security system, these stations enable preliminary detection and trajectory tracking of non-cooperative targets like unauthorized "rogue" drones and private drones within a 1-kilometer radius, exploring new pathways for low-altitude security prevention and control.

AI-Powered Intelligent Network Operations and Resource Scheduling

During this support operation, AI technology was deeply integrated into the entire network operation process.

The project team deployed ZTE Corporation's AI computing cards in the core exhibition area, combined with AI algorithms to accurately identify service types such as live streaming, QR code scanning, and video calls.

Based on various service demands and user habits, they performed flexible network resource scheduling and hierarchical, tiered service assurance.

This resulted in a 39.98% improvement in perceived speed for live streaming services and a 15.34% reduction in latency for QR code scanning services, ensuring every attendee had a high-speed, stable, and smooth premium network experience.

Simultaneously, leveraging AI tools like ZTE Corporation's RSD intelligent operations platform and NGI fault handling platform, the team achieved real-time monitoring of key performance indicators, automatic anomaly alerts, and proactive intervention for potential congestion.

Throughout the support period, the network operated smoothly overall, achieving the support goal of "zero major network incidents, zero major customer complaints, zero major security incidents, zero network public opinion incidents, with user satisfaction and government satisfaction."

Digital Foundation Supports International Event, Showcasing Smart City Achievements

From the main venue to various functional areas, and from offline exchanges to cloud-based interactions, the stable, high-speed, and intelligent communication network served as the information link connecting global participants.

Dalian Mobile has validated the commercial viability of 5G-A technology in high-density, high-demand scenarios with practical results, also accumulating replicable and scalable experience for future communication support of large international events.

Looking ahead, Dalian Mobile will continue its partnership with ZTE Corporation, delving deeper into cutting-edge technologies like 5G-A, AI, and network automation to continuously enhance network quality and service levels.

This will help Dalian build a more influential international city profile and provide solid support for high-quality regional economic development and smart city construction.
