Japan's ultra-long government bond yields extended their upward march on Tuesday, with the 40-year yield surging 7 basis points to hit 4.1%, marking a significant milestone in the current repricing wave.
The broader superlong segment followed suit, as the 30-year government bond yield climbed 6 basis points to 4.025%. Meanwhile, the 20-year note saw its yield rise 4.5 basis points to 3.75%, reflecting persistent selling pressure across the longer end of the curve.
At the shorter end, the benchmark 10-year government bond yield advanced 2.5 basis points to 2.93%, capping a session of broad-based yield increases that underscore shifting expectations for Japan's monetary policy trajectory.
