At the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show opening today, XPeng Group Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng held discussions with media representatives.

Addressing the current industry trend of frequent model launches, He Xiaopeng stated that XPeng is actively slowing down the pace of product updates and new model introductions in both the Chinese and global markets as a key current initiative. Secondly, the company will increasingly rely on software and digital Over-The-Air (OTA) updates to enhance product capabilities, an effort already underway. Thirdly, He expressed confidence that XPeng's average selling price and profitability would gradually improve.

He revealed that the company began contemplating how to establish a healthier business model as early as the end of the previous year. Only through this approach can sustained investment in research and development be ensured, subsequently leading to improved product quality and user experience, thereby creating a virtuous cycle. XPeng achieved its first quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of last year, which He attributed to both diligent effort and a degree of favorable circumstances. Moving forward, the company will focus on pursuing higher-quality revenue and profits.
