The international precious metals market has weakened once more. On July 20th, spot gold broke below the $4,000 per ounce threshold. As of 8:20 AM Beijing time, London spot gold was down 0.44% for the day, trading at $4,000.558 per ounce, having briefly lost this key psychological level during the session. Spot silver also fell approximately 0.5%.

Influenced by the weaker international gold price, the retail prices of domestic branded gold jewelry have continued to adjust downward. Today, Chow Sang Sang adjusted its price down to 1,215 yuan per gram from yesterday's 1,221 yuan, a single-day decrease of 6 yuan per gram. Lao Miao Gold lowered its price to 1,218 yuan per gram from 1,222 yuan, a drop of 4 yuan per gram.

Gold prices had just experienced a rebound last Friday, with Chow Tai Fook, Chow Sang Sang, and Lao Miao Gold jewelry prices rising by 7 to 10 yuan per gram. After just one weekend, jewelry prices have fallen back again.

However, compared to the historical highs seen earlier this year, today's prices for these two major brands are still cheaper by approximately 493 to 504 yuan per gram, representing a decline of roughly 29%. Calculating based on the traditional "Three Golds" (approximately 50 grams), purchasing now compared to the beginning of the year could still save about 24,500 yuan.
