The International Airports Council (ACI) has announced the results of its 2025 global airport service quality satisfaction assessment. Pudong Airport, recognized for its superior hub operations and service capabilities, was once again named the Best Airport in the Asia-Pacific region handling over 40 million passengers. This marks the sixth consecutive year it has ranked first globally in passenger satisfaction, sharing the top spot.
In 2025, Pudong Airport handled a total of 557,000 arriving and departing flights, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.5%. Passenger throughput reached 84.995 million, a growth of 10.7% compared to the previous year. Last year, the number of transfer passengers at Pudong Airport reached 13.75 million, an increase of 14% year-on-year. These include 24-hour security check and customs clearance for international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan departures; worry-free transfer amenities such as sleep pods and free shower rooms; a "Pule GO" mini-program for direct food delivery to the gate; late-night services like free centralized rest areas and extended dining hours; high-quality meal services during delays; a quick lost-and-found service with online inquiry and offline pickup; and a pet-friendly boarding service that allows passengers to stay with their pets. These initiatives ensure every traveler experiences efficiency, convenience, and warmth at Pudong Airport, providing strong support for establishing Shanghai Airport as the preferred global transfer hub.
The ACI's global airport service quality satisfaction assessment is an authoritative evaluation in the civil aviation sector. It assesses and recognizes the services of hub airports worldwide annually based on eight aspects and 31 specific indicators.
