Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's social media account posted an update on the 28th, stating, "We are well, firm and calm at heart."
The post said that now, more than ever, it is necessary to continue consolidating national peace, unity, and reconciliation in Venezuela.
On January 3rd, the United States launched a large-scale operation against Venezuela, forcibly taking control of President Maduro and his wife and transporting them to the United States. On January 5th, the Maduros made their first appearance in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where they rejected the so-called "criminal" charges brought by the U.S. authorities. On March 26th, Maduro appeared again in the same court, where a judge denied his request to have the case dismissed.
