According to a research report from Citi, Macau's gross gaming revenue for June 2026 reached 18.522 billion patacas, equating to an average daily rate of approximately 617 million patacas. This represents a 12% year-on-year decline, recovering to about 78% of the level seen in June 2019.
This figure was broadly in line with the bank's and market expectations of 18.75 billion patacas. Macau's total gaming revenue for the first half of 2026 amounted to 127 billion patacas, corresponding to a daily average of around 701 million patacas, marking a 7% increase year-on-year.
This implies that during the final nine days of June, the daily average revenue run-rate was approximately 591 million patacas.
Citi forecasts that Macau's July gaming revenue will recover to 21 billion patacas, equating to a daily average of about 677 million patacas, with the year-on-year decline narrowing to 5%. The bank expects the ongoing global football tournament to continue weighing on gaming revenue performance until the final on July 19th.
However, Macau has a packed schedule of major events in early July, including concerts by Anson Lo and NCT JNJM at The Londoner Arena, as well as performances by Gareth.T and Rosy Zhao at the Galaxy Arena. These events may help offset some of the potential weakness.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, concerts featuring artists such as Eason Chan and Joey Yung (at Galaxy Arena) and Hins Cheung (at Studio City Event Center) are expected to help kickstart a recovery in Macau's gaming sector.
