Shares of Trimble Navigation (NASDAQ:TRMB) surged 5.35% in pre-market trading on Wednesday after the company reported second-quarter financial results that exceeded analyst expectations and raised its full-year guidance. The stock also got a boost from the announcement of a new $1 billion share repurchase program.
For the second quarter, Trimble posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.86, beating the consensus estimate of $0.80. Revenue came in at $972 million, above the $951.9 million analysts had projected. The company also reported adjusted EBITDA of $278 million, surpassing the $262.3 million estimate, and adjusted net income of $200.3 million, compared to the $187.3 million forecast. Looking ahead, Trimble raised its fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $3.60 to $3.70, up from the FactSet estimate of $3.59, and sees full-year revenue between $3.90 billion and $3.95 billion, also ahead of the $3.89 billion consensus.
Additionally, Trimble disclosed that its board has approved a new $1 billion share repurchase authorization, signaling confidence in the company's financial health and future prospects. The combination of a strong quarterly beat, an improved outlook, and the sizable buyback plan fueled the pre-market rally.
