Between July and September, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized and carried out routine monitoring of agricultural product quality and safety for the third quarter of 2026, sampling vegetables, fruits, livestock and poultry products, and aquatic products, covering 111 varieties across 4 major categories and 7,561 samples, involving 143 parameters, with a monitoring compliance rate of 98.3%.
Among these, the compliance rates for vegetables, fruits, livestock and poultry products, and aquatic products stood at 98.1%, 98.2%, 99.3%, and 97.3%, respectively. Overall, the national agricultural product quality and safety situation remained stable in the third quarter of 2026.
In response to issues identified through routine monitoring, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, following the mechanism of reporting upon inspection and transferring upon reporting, has forwarded information on non-compliant samples to local agricultural and rural departments for timely handling. Next, the ministry will further improve national standards for pesticide and veterinary drug residues, and strengthen standards support for the supervision and enforcement of agricultural product quality and safety.
Efforts will persist in targeting the source, shutting down illegal operations, and investigating major cases, stepping up comprehensive rectification actions for the production, operation, and use of pesticides and veterinary drugs to purify the source of agricultural product quality and safety. The ministry will continue to carry out rectification of drug residues in agricultural products with prominent issues, intensify pre-market spot checks for key varieties in key areas, promptly identify risks and hidden dangers, and strictly prevent non-compliant products from entering the market.
