How Effective is the "Snow Holiday"? Jilin's Popular Scenic Spots See Over 240% Surge in Bookings

On December 3, Jilin's first "snow holiday" for primary and secondary school students officially began, coinciding with the peak season for winter tourism, significantly boosting local travel demand. Since November 30, bookings for local vacations, hotels, and scenic spots in Jilin on the TONGCHENGTRAVEL platform have surged.

Data from TONGCHENGTRAVEL shows that from November 30 to December 2, the overall booking popularity for 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day local tours during the "snow holiday" (December 3–7) increased by more than 6.5 times week-on-week. Popular itineraries include a 2-day, 1-night trip to Changbai Mountain's North Slope, Tianchi, Yanji, and the Snowflake Reindeer Park, as well as a 3-day, 2-night tour covering Yanji, Changbai Mountain, Tumen, Snow Ridge, and the Magic World Drift.

To meet the rising demand for winter vacations, TONGCHENGTRAVEL launched a promotion offering discounts of up to 300 yuan on holiday packages. Additionally, Jilin introduced discounted ticket policies for students, further driving family travel demand among locals and complementing inbound tourist flows.

According to TONGCHENGTRAVEL, hotel and scenic spot bookings in Yanbian, Changchun, and other Jilin destinations have risen significantly. As of December 2, hotel bookings in Changchun grew nearly 20% year-on-year, while major attractions in Yanbian saw a 240% month-on-month increase in bookings.

Top-rated attractions in Jilin include Changbai Mountain Scenic Area, Jingyuetan, Changchun Lianhua Mountain Ski Resort, Changchun Film Studio Museum, Changchun Zoological and Botanical Garden, and the Changbai Mountain Snowflake Reindeer Park.

Pei Ningli, General Manager of TONGCHENGTRAVEL's Hotel and Travel Business Center, stated that the first "snow holiday" has effectively stimulated local demand for winter vacations and helped cultivate a vibrant winter tourism culture. Aligning with local promotional policies, TONGCHENGTRAVEL introduced discounts to provide affordable options for both residents and tourists while supporting Jilin's winter tourism economy.
